Biography
I have been a full-time pediatric intensivist at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children (KMCWC) since August 2015 and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at University of Hawaii since July 2023. I completed my pediatric residency from the University of Hawaii in 2012 and a pediatric critical care medicine fellowship from Stanford University in 2015. My primary area of research is pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in pediatrics. My overarching goal is to establish the safety and efficacy of various medications used in the pediatric intensive care unit. I am a site principal investigator for a multicenter NICHD research project of “Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, and Safety of Understudied Drugs Administered to Children per Standard of Care.” My research work has resulted in several publications and abstracts at the national congress of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. I also like to share my experience through case reports and retrospective research projects.
